Abstract

On October 4, 2011, Apple's new CEO Timothy Cook unveiled a new iPhone, dubbed the iPhone 4S, instead of the long-anticipated iPhone 5. On October 6, 2011, Apple announced another shocking news about the death of its former CEO Steve Jobs. While Apple received tremendous market criticism at the beginning of the iPhone 4S launch, the passing of Steve Jobs also dropped a bomb to the mobile communications industry worldwide. This report offers insights into the recent two incidents of Apple, iPhone 4S strategy and Steve Jobs' recent demise, and their implications to the future Smartphone development.
